FG POWDER ANTIFOAM

CD-2020 Powdered Food-Grade Kosher Antifoam

CD-2020 is a proprietary, powdered, silicone antifoam designed to control foam in aqueous systems such as food processing applications and fermentations. As an antifoaming agent,

CD-2020 finds utility in biotechnology/fermentation applications, food processing, brewing, pharmaceutical and water treatment applications. It is especially useful when blended with other powdered or dry products subject to foam formation when the consumer reconstitutes them with water. Examples include: dehydrated soup mixes, instant beverages, powdered detergents and fertilizers. When used in biotechnology applications, CD 2020 will not alter microbial growth rates or lower yields. It is compatible with ultrafiltration membranes and is non-toxic and autoclavable. .CD-2020 utilizes only food-grade, nonionic components and contains only ingredients that are recognized by qualified experts as safe in food products according to the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Part 173.340. It may therefore be safely used as a secondary direct food additive in an amount not to exceed 50 parts per million (ppm) residual CD 2020 remaining in the finished foodstuff. CD-2020 is also USDA-approved for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants; and is listed per 40 CFR 180.1001 for pesticide applications. Please consult the Code of Federal Regulations for further clarification on antifoam usage in your particular food-grade application.

IG-4224 Powdered Industrial Grade Antifoam

IG-4224 is an industrial-grade, powdered, silicone antifoam designed to control foam in powdered or dry products subject to foam formation when the consumer reconstitutes them with water. It also finds utility when added directly into some aqueous foaming systems or when powdered antifoam is preferred.

As an antifoaming agent, IG-4224 finds utility in biotechnology/fermentation applications and water treatment applications. It is especially useful when blended with other powdered or dry products subject to foam formation when the consumer reconstitutes them with water. Examples include: powdered detergents, cleaning compounds and fertilizers, and fracking fluids.

When used in biotechnology applications, IG-4224 will not alter microbial growth rates or lower yields. It is compatible in most applications involving ultrafiltration membranes and is non-toxic and autoclavable.

To control foam, the recommended method of application is to add IG-4224 directly to the foaming product or process. Pre-diluted aqueous dispersions of IG-4224 are not recommended. Each foaming problem is unique and requires different treatment levels of antifoam. Use only the minimum amount of IG-4224 required to control the foam. Trial testing will be necessary to optimize the amount of antifoam used in a given process. A good starting point is 0.010% by weight in an industrial aqueous system or fermentation. As with any antifoam or defoamer, thorough testing should always be conducted to determine the suitability and compatibility of the antifoam with the foaming system and processing equipment.
